Wind Orchestra Apollo in Brief

Wind orchestra Apollo is a Helsinki based amateur band, which offers the possibility to play wind music together for anyone interested and willing to join. We do not require our members to belong to any music school etc., nor do we arrange intake exams.

The orchestra operates with some financial support from the city of Helsinki and collects a membership fee from every player twice a year (current 60€/6 months). The orchestra has some instruments to lend to members (or non-members too, for a fee).

Apollo has chosen to break the traditional rules for wind orchestras, and selects the music from a wide variety, including vocal soloists etc.

The orchestra rehearsals are every Thursday at 6 pm. Currently we rehearse in a festival hall located at Kirjatyöntekijänkatu 10 B, 00170 Helsinki.
